Youthprise has been awarded a grant from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation. In an effort to support community health, the Foundation has granted funds to projects focused on improving social and economic factors that significantly impact health outcomes for Minnesotans. These factors include determinants of health such as income, employment, education, family and social support, and community safety.

YPAR is a community based research framework that inclusively supports the leadership and knowledge of youth most impacted by disparities. Youth are encouraged to ask questions and are given the opportunity to conduct research based on the needs and interest of the community. Currently, Youthprise partners with 6 youth based organizations that share our commitment to community-based research and youth mobilizing for social change.

The Blue Cross Foundation grant will further the work of the YPAR team to research and develop solutions that can positively impact health outcomes of Minnesotans through social, cultural, and political transformation.
