We have some exciting news to share with you: Youthprise has been recognized by Philanthropedia, a division of GuideStar, and Minnesota Philanthropy Partners as a 2013 top nonprofit in Minnesota working in the field of educational support for at-risk youthGuidestarphoto

This designation is made even more special in two ways: 1) it was a panel of experts – our peers, our funders, policy makers, and other decision-makers in the field – who were asked to recommend up to four high-impact nonprofits and up to two promising start-up nonprofits working in the field of educational support for at-risk youth in Minnesota, and 2) more than half of the full list of 19 nonprofits recognized by Philanthropedia are grantees or partners of Youthprise.

We win in two ways! We are recognized for our own work in leading transformational innovations in our field, and we have identified and invested in organizations that are also being acknowledged as having high potential and reputational capital for leading change.

We want to share this recognition with people interested in out-of-school time and the success of young people in Minnesota. Philanthropedia has helped illuminate what we at Youthprise have known for sometime: we cannot do this alone. We have a deep network of partners and grantees doing innovative work in Minnesota and we are thrilled to see how these important players will work together to change Minnesota for young people!
