Supporting Youth Success Web/Audio Conference

Youthprise and Greater Twin Cities United Way hosted a web and audio conference on the release of the recent report, Supporting Youth Success: The Promise of Expanded Learning Opportunities on March 19, 2012. The report was created by Youth Community Connections–Minnesota’s Statewide Afterschool Alliance, which is now part of Youthprise.

Based on the input from Minnesota youth, experts and stakeholders, the Supporting Youth Success report recommends creation of comprehensive learning systems in communities throughout the state to expand access to quality opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.  Learning beyond the classroom includes programs that provide support for young people’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development outside the traditional school classroom, including programs for youth that take place in schools and in community-based settings, and occur both before and after school, and during weekends, holidays and summer breaks.

Download the PowerPoint presentation from the web/audio conference.  You can view and download a copy of the full Supporting Youth Success report here. You can also learn more about the process that was used to engage youth in the report.

The audio from the web conference is available here. FYI: The recording started 30 seconds late and the beeps are from people joining or leaving the call.
