Youthprise Appoints Nine New Board Members

Youthprise is pleased to announce the election of nine new board members who represent the organization’s commitment to youth/adult partnership in creating innovative solutions to address the opportunity gap, especially for under-served youth.

Ranging in age from 14 to 82, board members comprise a dynamic group of thinkers, practitioners and community leaders who are dedicated to the social, emotional and academic development of Minnesota youth. They reflect the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Twin Cities, which is a high priority for Youthprise on our board and staff, and with our grantees and partners. Board members’ expertise includes youth development, research, juvenile justice, technology and online media, financial management, and corporate relations.

New board members include:
• Thompson Aderinkomi, Retrace Health and Ader Group, LLC
Health care economist, entrepreneur and systems thinker

• Tawanna Black, Innovations by Design, LLC
Diversity and inclusion, strategic planning and organizational development consultant

• Rev. Kelly Chatman, Redeemer Lutheran Church
Pastor, professor at Luther Seminary, expert on cross-cultural relations

• Shamari Chism, Hopkins North Junior High
9th grade student, participant in multiple youth leadership initiatives

• Amy Hang, WGH Holdings / Wellstone Action
Expert in public policy and grassroots organizing, former staff for Senator Al Franken

• Terrie Rose, Baby’s Space
Child psychologist, early childhood development expert, social entrepreneur

• Joseph Stackhouse, Land O’Lakes, Inc.
Expert in corporate finance and strategy, interested in developing leaders

• Solome Tibebu, Cognific
Recent University of St. Thomas graduate; software developer; expert in anxiety in teens

• Jennifer Waltman, Invitation Health & Wellness, Inc. and Heritage Strategic Group
Consultant on strategic direction and facilitation with a focus on developing healthy communities
