Meet Our New Board Members!

We are pleased to welcome Sandy Pulles, Dr. Myriam Roby, and Charlie St. Dennis to our board!

Sandy is the Vice President of Equity and Inclusion at ServeMinnesota. Formerly a school psychologist, she has a long track record of eliminating racial disparities in education and supporting equity in student’s academic, social, and emotional outcomes. As a Puerto Rican of Taíno and African descent, she is passionate about serving people of color, and she approaches her work through the lens of both research and practice in community. She received her master’s and doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and is also a National Certified School Psychologist. In her free time, she enjoys reading, triathlon training, and spending time with family. We are excited to have her expertise and input on Youthprise’s board and look forward to elevating our work together.

Dr. Roby is a family nurse practitioner. Recently, she joined Hennepin Health Care as their Health Equity Clinical Outcomes Director, where she works to assess and improve health equity metrics across the organization. Her insatiable pursuit of knowledge and commitment to lifelong learning is demonstrated by her progression in education. In addition to obtaining her MS and Doctorate in Nursing from Georgetown University and St. Catherine University, she has continued to enhance her practice; notably, she is a licensed administrator of intercultural development inventory and certified in Reducing Racial Disparities in Healthcare from Harvard University. Her hobbies include working out, reading, participating in church activities, and being a mom to her seventeen-year-old daughter. At Youthprise, she is looking forward to participating in effective, inclusive dialogue that leads to more equitable health and wellness outcomes for the youth of our community.

Charlie is currently a student and community organizer based in the Twin Cities area, where he has effectively supported 40+ progressive campaigns as a campaign manager. His passion for bridging generational gaps resonated with Youthprise’s intergenerational approach. As a board member, he aims to expand out-of-school opportunities for young people in the metro area. In addition to serving in the community, he enjoys evening walks and runs, hanging out with friends, and listening to R&B music.
