Job Posting: Nutrition Program Outreach Intern

The Nutrition Program Outreach Intern will recruit, market, and monitor Nutrition Sites for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) located in or near the Osseo School District in order to expand geographic reach, through new and existing communication channels. This position will provide regular oversight for food delivery to multiple sites in compliance with regulations of the USDA, Summer Food Service Program, and State of Minnesota departments of Education and Health. The Program Outreach Intern will help potential Nutrition Sites and Vendors understand the benefits and expectations of the meals reimbursement programs and to ensure they are fully compliant with all rules and regulations associated with participation.
Anticipated Job Duration and Schedule: Up to 13 weeks, part-time, 14-20 hours per week. Usual work schedule during normal business hours; some early evening hours are required.
Compensation and Benefits: Non-exempt, $16-$18 per hour.
Education, Experience & Skills
High school diploma required; special interest in candidates pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Management, Health, Public Health, or related Community Service majors. One to three years of life or professional experience in youth development, family services, nutrition, food services, or related work. Preferred knowledge of federal and state food program requirements. Proficiency in MS Office products and database management. Strong aptitude for learning new software programs. Passion and demonstrated ability to work with diverse cultural communities. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. 10th grade or higher writing proficiency. Ability to be focused and detailed, meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and work as part of a team. Ability to travel to all meal sites as needed; approximately 50% out of the office.
