Job Title: Minnesota Afterschool Advance (MMA) Associate
Location: Main Office/Remotely Until Further Notice
Supervisor: Minnesota Afterschool Advance Director

Job Summary:

This position offers the opportunity to join Youthprise’s rapidly growing MAA program, which helps Minnesota families pay for out-of-school time activities and computers for distance learning by helping them leverage the K-12 Education Tax Credit.  Launched in 2018, applications to MAA have increased nearly 2500% in 2020, and the program’s goal is to pay for $1,000,000 of afterschool programming and computer hardware in 2021.  (Learn more about the program at  The MAA Associate will drive the day-to-day operations of the program.  You will be the public face of the program to most applicants and activity providers and will be their primary point of contact.  In addition to working with external stakeholders, the Associate will be responsible for many complex internal processes.  These responsibilities require an exceptionally high attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.  In addition, the Associate will collaborate with the MAA Director and Youthprise Communications Team to market MAA and devise and execute program growth strategies.  MAA serves an incredibly diverse population of families, so a high degree of cultural competence is required.

Education, Experience & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in education/youth development, management, sales, marketing, community organizing, or related field, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.  Experience working in the field of youth development and out-of-school time is preferred but not required. Extremely high attention to detail and strong work ethic. Strong verbal and written communication skills to appropriately interact and build relationships with families, service providers, and other program stakeholders.  Customer service mindset with an ability to assist cordially people from all backgrounds.  Ability to understand and manage complex processes and projects.  Work effectively in collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders to foster a culturally inclusive environment.  Highly competent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.  Experience with CRM databases, especially Salesforce, is preferred.  Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with interruptions, simultaneously and accurately.  Ability to travel to meet with stakeholders throughout the state. Must have a vehicle for transportation.  Fluency in Spanish, Somali, or Hmong a bonus.

Working Conditions and Environment:


  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends, if necessary.
  • Ability to perform sedentary work as required.

Compensation: Non-exempt $20.19 per hour and generous benefits package

Currently, this position is remote during the COVID-19 pandemic. Laptop, cell service, internet, and stipend for homework station needs are provided. Under non-pandemic circumstances, Youthprise’s offices are in an office building setting with fitness and conference spaces.
