Job Summary

The Communications & Advancement Officer oversees Youthprise’s communication and external relations and works closely with the President and Vice President to develop and execute Youthprise’s resource development plan. This senior level position provides day-to-day oversight and leadership of staff and external consultants related to communications and resource development. Provides leadership as it relates to both internal and external communications. Works internally to ensure staff, board and volunteers have the tools, resources, and training to understand and effectively communicate the impact of Youthprise. Oversees the strategy and material development for communicating the importance of our mission and impact to external audiences for the purposes of general constituency building, fundraising, earned revenue generation and advocacy. The Communication & Advancement Officer also serves as the Staff Liaison to the Policy and Development Committee of Youthprise’s Board of Directors.

Schedule: Full-time, regular employee

Compensation and Benefits: This is an exempt role. Youthprise offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Education, Experience & Skills

Minimum bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree or additional relevant training is preferred. Eight to ten years of progressively professional experience with at least five years of experience in a senior management leadership role; at least five years of supervisory experience. Experience in developing and executing communication plans and strategies. Experience with internal capacity building, training and facilitation. Budget and contract management experience. Experience working with and securing funds from a diverse set of funders, including business, foundations, corporations, individuals and government sources. Experience developing and executing earned revenue development strategies.
