We invite you to join us in making a difference this holiday season by supporting Fostering Hope. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage and support college students who are facing barriers as they pursue completion of their postsecondary education.
Fostering Hope will provide gift boxes during the holidays to participants of Youthprise’s Foster Postsecondary Success Program (FPS), which serves Minnesota youth who have aged out of the foster care system and are navigating the financial, emotional, and social challenges of entering adulthood while attending college, often without family support.
About Foster Postsecondary Success Program
As the statewide coordinator of Minnesota’s Education and Training Voucher Program (ETV), Youthprise established FPS as a container for the ETV program. ETV is a state-funded program that offers up to $5,000 a year to help students under the age of 26 who have aged out of foster care pay for college tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies and living expenses. Through this program, Youthprise is committed to helping former foster youth achieve their dreams of a post-secondary education.
In addition to disbursement of funds associated with the voucher, we provide:
• Dedicated Allies: Encouraging students to persevere and succeed in their academic journey.
• Safe Spaces: Offering a supportive environment where students can share knowledge, navigate student life, and embrace their identities, including sexual orientation, gender identity, abilities, race, and ethnicity.
Our Goal
We aim to raise $15,000 to distribute gift boxes that will brighten the holiday season for 60 FPS students.
Each package will include:
• A $150 gift card
• Snack packs
• School essentials, including supplies, accessories, and other needed items
• A personal note of encouragement
Join us in spreading holiday cheer and making a lasting impact. Your support can change lives!
We ask that you make your donations by Friday, November 22nd, allowing us time to purchase, pack, and ship gift items by early December. Please designate your gift for “Fostering Hope.”
