Tell us about your role in one sentence.
I am the Nutrition Program coordinator, helping sites stay in compliance as they serve meals in out of school hours.
How did you end up here?
I was working at a weight loss center, more of a sales role than consultant, and I was not enjoying myself. I found the position for Youthprise online and was lucky enough to be interviewed and chosen for the position. I have been with Youthprise for a little over four years and they have been some of the most challenging and rewarding years of my life!
What is most rewarding about your job; what makes it all worthwhile?
Going to the sites and speaking with the youth there, seeing them eat the meals and get excited about what they are having is such a heart warming experience.
What local restaurants and/or small businesses are you currently supporting?
There is a Chinese restaurant by my house, China Hope, that I love!
Which of your teachers inspired you the most? And why?
My study abroad professor Anna Mercedes, she was an amazing teacher that taught so her students understood and not because the curriculum said so. She also treated us like adults and not students which was appreciated.
