About

Through a multi-generational approach, Youthprise empowers youth to cultivate lasting and impactful change.

Our Mission

Increase equity with and for Minnesota’s indigenous, low-income, and racially diverse youth.

Our Vision

We envision a Minnesota where outcomes for youth are no longer predictable by race, geography, or socioeconomic status.

Our Guiding Values

Centering Youth

Youth who are reflective of our mission are active partners in decision-making and leaders in our work.

Advancing Equity

We seek to end youth oppression by fostering opportunities for healing and building ownership, wealth, and power.

Expanding Resources

Our thinking must move beyond being sustainable to achieving growth. To do more, we must increase our financial capacity.

Increasing Impact

It is essential that our sector is collectively engaged and informed. We must share what works broadly across our state and nation.

Our Impact Areas

Building Power: Learning & Leadership

We invest in learning opportunities that build power and agency among our youth. Support and amplify youth as leaders by building networks, developmental opportunities, and shifting policy/laws.

Advancing Ownership & Wealth: Economic Opportunity

We create opportunities for economic prosperity by increasing youth ownership and wealth as they define it. Promote youth entrepreneurship and ownership and increasing access to “thrivable” career pathways.

Promoting Safety: Health & Healing

We champion work that promotes the healing of our youth and their RIGHT to health & safety. Promoting basic needs as a right and
ensuring young people have the resources to heal from criminalization and oppression.

Strategies for Impact

Mobilizing and investing resources

  • Discovering, unlocking, and increasing, resources available to youth and youth organizations and initiatives.
  • Investing those resources in youth networks, organizations, and young people directly doing this work to advance ownership and wealth for Minnesota’s youth.

Advancing Knowledge and Advocating for Change

  • Advancing equity through research, thought leadership, design thinking, narrative change, and amplifying youth voice.
  • Advocating for policy and systems reform and lobbying for changes to laws that advance access, power, and equity for youth.
